FAQ: TELECOM AUDIT QUESTIONS

What kind of savings can we expect?

We typically see savings in the 12% - 30% range, but we have seen higher and only occasionally lower

What gets audited?

All local, long distance, data, and wireless as appropriate.

How do your clients pay for telecommunication billing audit and telecom cost consulting services?

Clients pay Ruby a percentage of realized savings from the telephone bill audit. These are contingency-based fees. Our business model offers our clients a majority of the realized cost savings that we achieve for them. Some clients may also choose an hourly consulting arrangement for specialized projects such as contract negotiation, project management and audit training for their staff.

Will this take a lot of our time and resources?

Very little, especially as compared with the potential savings. To begin the audit, we only require copies of your most recent two invoices from each carrier, copies of contracts if available, a letter of agency authorizing us to talk to the phone companies about your telecom bills, and that''s about it. We will have a few questions along the way and will ask for your time when we explain the savings opportunities and refunds.

How long does the audit take?

Variables such as number of locations, vendors, etc. determine the time. In general your first savings will be identified within weeks and the entire audit should be completed in three to six months. All during the time, new savings and cost reductions are being generated.

Can we audit ourselves?

Some large corporations have their own telecom staffs who have the time, experience, and resources to audit. If your company doesn't have a dedicated telecom team, then your bottom line can benefit by outsourcing.

What are common client telecommunication problems?

Clients often feel overwhelmed with difficult-to-read telecommunication bills and they don''t have the time or enough staff to handle the billing review workload. Because Telecom carriers use complex technical terms and present companies with erroneous or non-beneficial contracts, companies are confused from the outset. Furthermore, invoices often have multiple discrepancies. These problems are difficult to uncover and require a thorough, detailed investigation and constant follow-up.
