THE FOUNDER - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Tanya Seda

Tanya has an expertise within a diverse range of disciplines which provides Ruby Communications with a unique and creative product offering.

Tanya specializes in helping companies improve their earnings by reducing their expenses through telecom contract negotiations, billing anomaly identification and correction, network optimization, and overpayment recovery. She is responsible for collecting, managing and analyzing data from a variety of sources which enables her to provide insight on product performance and opportunities for development.  Her knowledge in telecom allows her to maneuver through invoices, contracts and tariffs. 

She has spent over the last 15 years in the industry working in the telecommunications industry, nearly half of it as a consultant. Her experience includes managing a wide variety of functional groups at Qwest, Verizon, AT&T, MCI, WorldCom, and Sprint. Her responsibilities include contract pricing and negotiations for Fortune 500 and enterprise customers, auditing, network engineering, wholesale services planning, global markets planning, and access reform planning.

Her experience at GST was managing their Frame Relay Data Network.  She was responsible for driving the achievement of the revenue and margin targets for voice services to the channel; providing ongoing product training and marketing support; developing new service, products and pricing plans to achieve revenue and margin objectives; preparing launch material and collateral for the introduction of the product to the channel; preparing business cases for new product developments; and forecasting revenues, margins and minutes for the channel as part of the business planning process.

Prior to her experience in telecommunications, she wrote grants which helped to allow third world countries receive communications for public health driven projects in the States.

Tanya earned a Bachelor of Science in Experimental Psychology from San Diego State University and a Masters in Public Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

 


DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Steve Caldwell

 

Steve Caldwell established himself as a successful marketer and revenue leader through reengineering a distribution business by tripling the gross margin. He built the sales and marketing team at an internet startup that culminated in a successful liquidity event within three years of his arrival at that company. He led the initial strategic initiative at a global fortune 1000 company into a new $4.2B market. He has provided consulting to several startups, government projects, and today is leading Ruby Communications marketing and sales team.

His telecommunications experience began when he was managing a regional LAN-WAD Distribution business. From there he continued to be engaged in telecom by joining an Internet Service Provider. During his time at the ISP he was appointed to the Oregon Telecommunications Advisory Board by Governor Kitzhaber. Following that he created and led several telco vertical marketing programs for Intel Corp. Then Steve wrote a marketing plan for a State of Oregon communications project and directed implementation of the plan.

Steve's university education began at the University of Puget Sound. He moved to Europe to study where he enrolled in several universities and colleges including Trinity College, United Kingdom. Returning for his senior year Steve graduated from the University of Puget Sound. During his time at the University of Puget Sound he was involved in various campus organizations including sitting on the University Housing Committee as a student representative.

  


 

AUDITING DIRECTOR

Jen Van Tassell

Jen Van Tassell is responsible for carrying out internal audits, internal controls assessment, investigations, audit management, due to diligence reviews for Ruby''s client base in the telecommunications industry.

She has spent the last decade in the telecommunications industry. Her experience includes dispatch coordination for XO Communications, project management and order coordination for EasyStreet Online Services, project management for Matrix Networks, and account development for GST Telecommunications.

Jen's role includes planning and execution of telecom audit assignments for our clients in the Telecommunication industry. Her responsibilities include the following:  carries out audit assignments as assigned by the Audit in Charge,  completes assignments allocated within the budgeted time,  keeping track of the time spent on each assignment and bringing any delays to the notice of the Audit in Charge in a timely manner,  performs risk assessments on business processes and evaluate the adequacy of internal controls in place to mitigate those risks; documents the audit program and gets it approved by the Audit in Charge/ Manager,  carries out the fieldwork,  documents the findings and discusses the findings with the appropriate client personnel.

 


PROJECT DIRECTOR

Heather Bailey

Heather Bailey currently serves as Ruby''s Project Manager. She is responsible for managing all activities necessary to deliver a project on schedule and within budget while satisfying agreed-upon customer requirements and specifications within the scope of the project.

Heather has substantial experience in the areas of finance, human resources and project management. She will assist in validating research and financials as well as management and coordination of meetings etc.  Her responsibilities include the following: Plan for required resources through resource forecasting, estimating and budgeting. Identify & assemble resources from all disciplines (Engineering and Auditing) as required, control and track project progress, mitigate negative impacts to schedule. Compare budgeted hours to actual hours. Estimate project costs, track budgeted costs to actual costs. Ensure project execution that complies with the approved Methodology. Monitor time lines and milestones for changes and corresponding project impacts; manage to strategic dates as provided by Client.
